About this experience
In a workshop kitchen in San Telmo, a local cook walks you through the craft behind Argentina's empanada: the dough, the fillings and the repulgue, the braided fold that seals each one. Over three hours you knead, fill and shape your own dozen, exploring how the recipe shifts from province to province while the oven does its work. This is a genuinely hands-on class: you cook, you don't just watch.
Everything is set up for you: ingredients, tools and an apron wait at your station, and you leave with a printed recipe plus the empanadas you make. The pace is relaxed, in a small mixed group, with a welcome vermouth and a glass of Malbec alongside the tasting. Ideal if you love to cook, or want to understand Argentine food from the inside.
What you'll do

Arrive at the San Telmo workshop kitchen and settle in with a welcome vermouth among fellow participants.

The cook shares a short history of the empanada and how it changes from province to province.

Hands in the flour: you prepare the dough from scratch and cook two classic fillings.

Learn the repulgue, the traditional braided fold, and shape your own dozen with guidance at every pleat.

Your empanadas go into the oven, then straight to the table, paired with a glass of Malbec.

The session closes with a printed recipe to take home, so you can repeat your dozen anywhere.
