About this experience
This day in the countryside takes you out of the city to an estancia near San Antonio de Areco, the heartland of gaucho tradition. You're welcomed with empanadas and a glass of wine, the way guests have always been received on the pampas, and from there the day unfolds unhurried: a horseback ride or a sulky carriage tour across open grassland, under a sky that seems to go on forever.
The experience runs around ten hours and includes round-trip transport from Buenos Aires, so all you need to do is show up. At midday there's a full asado criollo with wine under the veranda, followed by a display of gaucho horsemanship and mate with pastelitos to close the afternoon. Shared with a mixed group, it's ideal if you want to understand Argentina beyond the city.
